0–100, higher is better. How it is calculated

The website www.chemie-verbandsrahmenvertrag.de serves as an informational and service platform for the Chemie-Verbandsrahmenvertrag, a tariff-based pension scheme for employers and employees in the chemical industry in Germany. Operated under the Allianz Lebensversicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft brand, it provides detailed information about membership, offers, administration, and support services. The site targets chemical industry companies and their workforce, offering tools such as an offer calculator and online login services. The business model focuses on facilitating pension scheme participation and management within the chemical sector, supported by industry partners BAVC and IG BCE. Technically, the website is built on the ecomas CMS platform, utilizing standard web technologies including JavaScript and CSS. It demonstrates good mobile optimization, accessibility features, and SEO practices. The site employs HTTPS with strong SSL configuration and includes a cookie consent mechanism compliant with GDPR. No major security vulnerabilities or exposed sensitive data were detected, though formal security policies and incident response contacts are not published. From a security perspective, the site maintains a solid posture with encrypted connections and privacy compliance. However, it lacks explicit security policy documentation and vulnerability disclosure mechanisms, which could be improved. The WHOIS data is minimal but consistent with the business purpose, and no WAF or blocking mechanisms interfere with content access. Overall, the website is professional, trustworthy, and well-suited for its target audience. Strategic recommendations include enhancing published security policies, adding incident response contacts, and implementing security.txt for vulnerability reporting to further strengthen trust and compliance.

This scan rated NIS2 with an earlier keyword method that is no longer shown; rescan for the per-article view. Risk management, continuity, supply chain, training, MFA, management oversight (Art. 20) and incident reporting (Art. 23) need internal evidence, and Guard cannot tell whether NIS2 applies to this organisation.

5 findings rated critical or high. Fix these first.

  1. GDPR outside view

These are the privacy signals visitors and data protection authorities look for under GDPR.

EU business without adequate privacy measures

EU businesses are subject to strict GDPR requirements

What to do: Implement comprehensive GDPR compliance including privacy policy, cookie consent, and data protection measures

    • High

      No Cookie Policy found

What to do: Implement a cookie consent banner that appears on first visit

  2. Security headers

Security headers are instructions your web server sends to every visitor’s browser. Missing ones leave visitors more exposed to attacks such as clickjacking and injected scripts.

    • High

Each check with its score, findings and the evidence it collected.

How this score is calculated

The security score runs 0–100, higher is better. It is the plain average of the security checks that completed in this scan, each counted equally. A check that could not run is left out: it counts neither as a pass nor as a fail.

Not counted

  • NIS2 outside view: Re-weights evidence from the TLS, email, DNS, network and hygiene checks, so counting it would count that evidence twice. Shown on its own.
  • OffSeq Observations: An AI reading of the site, useful context but not reproducible evidence. Shown on its own.

Findings that cap the score at 49

Each of these is serious on its own, so while any is present the site cannot rate better than high risk, however good the other checks are.

  • The certificate is not trusted by browsers
  • The website is not served over HTTPS
  • A database, remote desktop, file-sharing or Telnet service is reachable from the internet
  • The page loads a script from a compromised source
  • The domain registration has expired
  • SPF authorises every server to send mail as the domain

Partial scans

When the site blocks Guard or most checks cannot run, the score covers only the checks that ran (usually DNS and email), is capped at 75 and is shown as partial, without a risk level.

Technical appendix

Business context, site observations and technical notes gathered during the scan, and the standards behind each reference.

Business context

Business profile

The Chemie-Verbandsrahmenvertrag website occupies a niche market position as a specialized provider of tariff-based pension schemes for the German chemical industry. Its competitive advantage lies in its partnership with major industry stakeholders such as BAVC and IG BCE and the backing of Allianz Lebensversicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft. The business model revolves around facilitating pension plan enrollment and management for member companies and their employees, supported by digital tools like the Angebotsrechner and FirmenOnline login. Revenue streams likely include insurance premiums and administrative fees. The target customer segments are medium to large chemical industry employers and their workforce. Growth indicators include continuous updates to tariff agreements and digital service enhancements. The partnership ecosystem is strong, with clear links to industry associations and service providers. Strategic observations suggest maintaining strong industry ties and expanding digital service offerings to enhance market penetration.

Security posture

The website demonstrates a mature security posture with mandatory HTTPS encryption, cookie consent compliance, and secure form handling. No critical vulnerabilities or exposed sensitive data were found in the HTML content. However, the absence of a publicly available security policy, incident response contact information, and vulnerability disclosure mechanisms such as security.txt indicates room for improvement in transparency and readiness. The use of third-party scripts is limited and appears controlled, reducing attack surface. The site could benefit from enhanced HTTP security headers (e.g., Content Security Policy, HSTS) to mitigate common web threats. Overall, the security culture appears adequate for the business context but should evolve to meet higher compliance and trust standards.

Recommendations

  1. Publish a formal security policy page outlining security practices and commitments.
  2. Provide clear incident response contact channels such as security@ or abuse@ email addresses.
  3. Implement and publish a security.txt file to facilitate vulnerability disclosures.
  4. Enhance HTTP security headers including Content Security Policy, HSTS, and X-Frame-Options.
  5. Conduct regular security audits of third-party scripts and dependencies to prevent vulnerabilities.

Technical notes

Notes

The website is built on the ecomas CMS platform, leveraging standard HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript technologies. It features responsive design and accessibility enhancements, including an accessibility widget with multiple options for impaired users. Performance is moderate with preloading of key images and deferred script loading. SEO is supported by comprehensive meta tags and structured navigation. The hosting provider is not explicitly identified, and no advanced frameworks or platforms like React or Angular are detected. The site uses session cookies and local storage for functionality and consent management. Technical debt appears low, but modernization opportunities include adopting more modern JavaScript frameworks and improving HTTP security headers. Overall, the technical infrastructure supports the business needs effectively with room for incremental improvements.
Standards and sources

Reference chips under each finding point to the standard, regulation or specification the finding relates to. They are taken from the official datasets below and mapped conservatively: a finding with no defensible link shows none. NIS2 and GDPR references mark where a finding is relevant evidence, not a compliance verdict. Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2690 binds digital infrastructure and digital service providers; for other entities it is the most detailed public reading of the Article 21 measures. WCAG, EN 301 549, European Accessibility Act and Web Accessibility Directive references name the requirement an automated accessibility rule relates to; they are not a conformance verdict.
