Made of Dough Ltd. is a small hospitality business based in London specializing in authentic Neapolitan wood fired pizza and event catering. Established in 2014, the company has grown from a traveling pizzeria to multiple locations including an Italian bar and diner partner site. Their website is professionally designed on the Squarespace platform, featuring rich content, clear contact details, and social media integration. The business targets general consumers seeking quality pizza and catering services in the UK market. Technically, the site uses modern web fonts, YouTube embeds, and is mobile optimized, though performance is moderate and accessibility is basic. Security posture is average with no explicit security headers detected and no visible vulnerabilities, but HTTPS usage is implied. Privacy and cookie policies are absent, indicating compliance gaps. WHOIS data for the domain is unavailable due to a registration error, which raises some concerns about domain legitimacy but does not detract from the website's professional presentation. Overall, the business appears credible with room for improvement in security and compliance documentation.

This scan rated NIS2 with an earlier keyword method that is no longer shown; rescan for the per-article view. Risk management, continuity, supply chain, training, MFA, management oversight (Art. 20) and incident reporting (Art. 23) need internal evidence, and Guard cannot tell whether NIS2 applies to this organisation.

GDPR is indicative only, based on publicly visible signals: Articles 7, 12, 13 and 32 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. Not a certification or legal assessment.

Priority findings

8 findings rated critical or high. Fix these first.

  1. SSL/TLS

TLS encrypts the connection and proves the site is really yours. Weak or expiring certificates trigger browser warnings and put traffic at risk.

    • High

      Weak Protocols Supported

      Server supports weak protocols: TLSv1.1

What to do: Disable TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and all SSL versions

      • CWE-327
      • OWASP A04:2025
      • ASVS V12.1.1
  2. DNS health

DNS sends visitors and email to the right servers. Misconfigured records can cause outages or let someone redirect your traffic.

    • High

      Weak SPF Policy

SPF record has permissive policy allowing any server to send email

What to do: Use -all or ~all qualifier for better email security

  3. Security headers

Security headers are instructions your web server sends to every visitor’s browser. Missing ones leave visitors more exposed to attacks such as clickjacking and injected scripts.

    • High

      Missing X-Frame-Options header

      Prevents clickjacking attacks

What to do: Add "X-Frame-Options: DENY" or "X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN"

    • High

      Missing Content-Security-Policy header

Controls resources the browser is allowed to load

What to do: Implement a Content-Security-Policy appropriate for your application

      • ASVS V3.4.3
      • OWASP Secure Headers: OWASP Secure Headers Project recommends Content-Security-Policy: default-src 'self'; form-action 'self'; base-uri 'self'; object-src 'none';…
  4. GDPR outside view

These are the privacy signals visitors and data protection authorities look for under GDPR.

    • High

      No Privacy Policy found

GDPR requires a clear and accessible privacy policy

What to do: Add a comprehensive privacy policy page and link to it prominently

Results by check

Each check with its score, findings and the evidence it collected.

How this score is calculated

The security score runs 0–100, higher is better. It is the plain average of the security checks that completed in this scan, each counted equally. A check that could not run is left out: it counts neither as a pass nor as a fail.

Not counted

  • NIS2 outside view: Re-weights evidence from the TLS, email, DNS, network and hygiene checks, so counting it would count that evidence twice. Shown on its own.
  • OffSeq Observations: An AI reading of the site, useful context but not reproducible evidence. Shown on its own.

Findings that cap the score at 49

Each of these is serious on its own, so while any is present the site cannot rate better than high risk, however good the other checks are.

  • The certificate is not trusted by browsers
  • The website is not served over HTTPS
  • A database, remote desktop, file-sharing or Telnet service is reachable from the internet
  • The page loads a script from a compromised source
  • The domain registration has expired
  • SPF authorises every server to send mail as the domain

Partial scans

When the site blocks Guard or most checks cannot run, the score covers only the checks that ran (usually DNS and email), is capped at 75 and is shown as partial, without a risk level.

Technical appendix

Business context, site observations and technical notes gathered during the scan, and the standards behind each reference.

Business context

Business profile

The company operates in the hospitality sector with a focus on pizza and event catering, leveraging a traveling wood fired oven and a physical location. Their market position is strengthened by multiple awards and a growing presence including a partner Italian bar. Revenue streams likely include dine-in, event catering, and merchandise sales. The target customer base is local consumers and event organizers in London. The partnership with barpalazzo.com suggests strategic collaboration to expand offerings. The website content and social media presence indicate active marketing efforts. Growth indicators include multiple locations and event catering capabilities. The business model is direct-to-consumer with a focus on quality and experience.

Security posture

The website demonstrates a moderate security maturity level. HTTPS is likely enabled but not explicitly confirmed in the HTML. No security headers such as Content Security Policy or HSTS are detected, which are recommended best practices. There is no evidence of exposed sensitive data or vulnerable libraries. The absence of privacy and cookie policies indicates compliance gaps with GDPR and other regulations. Incident response and vulnerability disclosure information are not present, limiting readiness for security events. The minimal use of third-party scripts reduces attack surface but also limits analytics and marketing capabilities. Overall, the security posture is functional but could be significantly improved with standard security headers, documented policies, and incident response contacts.

Recommendations

  1. Implement and enforce HTTPS site-wide with proper redirects and certificates.
  2. Add comprehensive privacy and cookie policies to comply with GDPR and other regulations.
  3. Deploy security headers such as Content Security Policy, HSTS, X-Frame-Options, and X-Content-Type-Options.
  4. Establish and publish an incident response contact or security email address.
  5. Regularly audit third-party scripts and dependencies for vulnerabilities and update accordingly.

Description
Made of Dough. Proper Neapolitan pizza. Late 2014 we set out to make pizza and have a laugh. We took our travelling pizzeria to Broadway market, sold some pizza (burnt a lot) and got hooked on achieving pizza perfection. Since then we’ve won multiple awards for our pizza and opened a couple of pizzerias. We chase the perfect pizza by using the best produce we can find, cooking it fast by flame & pairing it with good times.

Key observations

  1. Website is a professionally designed Squarespace site for a small pizza restaurant and event catering business in London.
  2. No privacy, cookie, or terms of service policies found, which is a compliance gap.
  3. Contact information is clearly provided including email, phone, and physical address.
  4. No security headers detected in HTML source; HTTPS usage not explicitly confirmed but likely present.
  5. No analytics or tracking scripts detected, indicating minimal user tracking.
  6. No signs of adult or questionable content; content is safe for general audiences.
  7. WHOIS data is missing due to domain registration error message from Nominet UK, which is unusual and lowers trust score.
  8. External links include Instagram and YouTube for social media presence and a partner site 'barpalazzo.com'.
Technical notes

Notes

The website is built on the Squarespace platform, utilizing modern web fonts (Typekit, Google Fonts) and embedded YouTube videos for rich media content. The site is mobile optimized with a responsive design and clear navigation structure. Performance is moderate, likely due to image sizes and embedded content. Accessibility features are basic, with no explicit ARIA roles or advanced accessibility markup detected. SEO is supported by proper meta tags, Open Graph data, and JSON-LD structured data describing the business and website. Hosting is via Squarespace CDN, providing reliable uptime and scalability. Technical risks include lack of security headers and missing compliance documentation, which could impact trust and regulatory adherence.
Standards and sources

Reference chips under each finding point to the standard, regulation or specification the finding relates to. They are taken from the official datasets below and mapped conservatively: a finding with no defensible link shows none. NIS2 and GDPR references mark where a finding is relevant evidence, not a compliance verdict. Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2690 binds digital infrastructure and digital service providers; for other entities it is the most detailed public reading of the Article 21 measures. WCAG, EN 301 549, European Accessibility Act and Web Accessibility Directive references name the requirement an automated accessibility rule relates to; they are not a conformance verdict.
